That medieval fortress is located on the right bank
of Arda river and around 150m north of the village. There is a good cart way leading to it. It encompasses area of 562m2 on a rocky hill above “Studen kladenec”
dam. The fortress wall goes all around the hill. At some places are preserved walls up to 7m high and up to 1.75m wide. The fortress was built probably in 12th – 13th century. The remains of two rectangular two-storey internal towers can be still seen. The walls are around 2.2m thick and coated with a mixture of mortar and crumbled bricks. The first floor was used for water storage. Clearly distinguishable is the further construction of the premises and the wall in a later period. The entrance was from southeast. The fortress was researched in 1971-1974. Many intact and fragments of clay utensils with graphic paintings, an iron mask, arrows, spears and jewelry were found.
